Very short version: Arf is a great band, get a dictionary!
Or in other words (if you happen to be english-tongued:
ARF is the three-headed dog everyone has always been warning you about. This swiss three-piece band likes to play music that might actually hurt you. But ARF is by no means a rabid pitbull, much worse: ARF is a cute and faithful doggie that will follow you around for days. And when you turn your back, it will bite you with full might.
The newest record "ARF" (2008) indludes 10 songs that do exactly this: There are sweet melodies, worthy of every radio-approved popgroup with fancy hairstyles. Those melodies will haunt you in your sleep, will follow you through your everyday-lives, but beware: after a nice chorus follows a mean part in 13/4 or a lydian-flavoured monster of a solopart.
Why do we do that? Dont we know any nice songs? Again, short answer: Yes with an if. Long answer: no with a but...
What ARF is doing is to make the universal pieces of music. Music that works for your brains and your belly. Music you can listen to, sing along, or, if you dare, count along. But you can also turn of your mind and just enjoy the rockiest and most brain-twisting moments youve experienced in a long time.
